O’Neil Financial was founded with the goal of providing sound financial and integrity based solutions to our clients. In a world where customer service and a personal touch seem to be a thing of the past, you can be rest assured that at O’Neil Financial, we still believe that good old-fashioned customer service and strong relationship building are key to continuing a successful business.
Our approach is service first. We are a company built on a foundation of strong, integrity-based values and understand the importance of serving others. Therefore, we will work relentlessly and tirelessly to serve your needs.
The most important issue that we try to stress to people is that the “trust” in any financial planning relationship starts with you and your financial advisor first. The recommended investments should come secondary to an already solid and positive client-advisor relationship. If no trust is established, then there will be minimal trust in the investment as well, and the financial planning relationship, as a whole, will suffer.
When you enjoy a relationship with your financial advisor, you view that person as someone who is looking out for your best interests, and a fiduciary who is serving you well, and that’s priceless!
The main reason why an investor would typically back away from the client-advisor relationship is when they feel that the material facts and disclosures have not been properly and ethically laid out for them to make an informed decision on the direction they would like to take.
Our job is to educate you, inform you of all material facts, and disclose the most important factors that could impact your decision on a certain investment. Once all material facts have been laid on the table, such as fees and expenses, and you have a good understanding of what you can expect from the investment and the financial advisor, then the relationship is much more likely to be a successful, long term endeavor.
This is our initial, in-person consultation where we meet with you, get to know you, learn your current financial status, risk tolerance, where you want to be, and by when.
It goes into more depth than our introductory contact via phone or messaging. Therefore, it’s important to bring the proper paperwork to share your current financial situation.
This consultation is free and with no absolutely no obligation to proceed.

After getting to know you and gathering the appropriate information, we will conduct a follow up meeting to present our proposal(s) for how to best meet your financial goals based on the information provided in the initial consultation.
At this point you can still decide to move forward with us, ask for more information, or part ways. There is no obligation and no pressure to continue.
Multiple meetings may be necessary to complete this step depending on the complexity of your situation.
After getting to know you and gathering the appropriate information, we will conduct a formal review of your personal holdings, the fees you are paying, the risk level you are at, and if we believe you can do better. We will show you an alternative approach, if necessary, to meet your financial goals in a practical timeframe.
This is also where working with a team of professionals with a combined 65 years experience comes into play. We have seen many investors take a lot of different approaches over the years. The single most value we can add, is preventing you (or at least trying) from the same mistakes others have made. We have certain convictions based on our professional experience on what works and what does not work for most clients.
To note, the second meeting is also complimentary. You are under no obligation or pressure to work with us. All we both risk is a couple hours of our time. However, if you do decide to implement any part of our strategy, we will begin to be compensated and those details will be discussed at our third meeting.
When you agree to proceed, we will draft the appropriate paperwork then schedule a convenient time for you to return to the office and sign where necessary.
You will also receive a copy of each of your products to take home for your records.
When you agree to proceed, we will make your transition to O’Neil Financial as seamless as possible. We will need about 5-7 days from our second appointment to have all the necessary paperwork ready, and on-hand, so we can easily walk you through the process of implementing your new financial plan.
Our clients would normally refer to it as “hand-holding included”. However, it’s just something that comes natural to our office and we look forward to sharing that experience with you and your family.
Cheesy, we know, but in this case it’s true as our work is not done. We are committed to building a strong, working relationship with you that will last a lifetime. Therefore, it is recommended that you meet with us at least once a year to review your plan and keep up with changes in the financial markets. In our annual meetings, we will review the performance of your investments, rebalance your asset classes and categories as needed, and assess the latest changes in economic and tax conditions. Investing a few hours of your time per year, is time well invested!
And if you would like to meet more than once or twice a year, we’d love that! In general, we are happy to meet as many times and as often as you need because at O’Neil Financial, it is our sincere pleasure to serve you.
O’Neil Financial specializes in asset protection, financial planning, and retirement planning services. We have been serving hundreds of clients throughout the Metro Detroit area and throughout the United States for over 65 years combined.
